Coaches

At North West Sydney Football (NWSF), our coaches are the cornerstone of player development, fostering growth from grassroots to elite levels.
Their dedication and expertise create environments where players thrive, ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to play football "365", and to develop along our pathway from grassroots to elite.
Our coach education and development is guided by the NWSF DNA, a framework that guides both player and coach development.
The NWSF DNA is a framework that brings to life the mission of the association & representative clubs, which is to ‘foster and develop the game of football in Sydney’s North-west‘.
This DNA underpins all aspects of our pathways, from grassroots, talent, performance and social football, alongside our coach education.
To develop the NWSF DNA, we have developed a series of resources, including session plans, training programs, and more. This is free for our clubs and coaches!. These will help facilitate environments that can develop the DNA qualities and the development of football skills.
A deep and integrated connection with NWS Spirit FC is integral to NWSF's coaching strategy. This tight-knit relationship provides NWSF coaches with continuous professional development opportunities, including mentoring programs and practical experiences across various platforms such as the Academy and representative player programs.
NWSF's wide range of coach education opportunities can be viewed here. This gives an overview of the coaching courses being provided for our local coaches, and provides the links to register for the courses.
These courses are provided as part of NWSF's compulsory coach education strategy. This strategy, outlined here, provides minimum coaching qualifications for coaches in NWSF teams.
The purpose of this strategy is to maximise the quality of our players' football experience, which is the number one indicator of player retention. Through compulsory coach education, NWSF aims to enhance the quality of coaching in the association support the development of our people.
NWSF clubs are encouraged to appoint Directors of Coaching to oversee coaching activities and development within their clubs. A full role description can be found by clicking here.
