NWSF is delighted to announce that walking football will be returning in 2026 on Fridays starting 17th April through to the 28th August.
Walking Football promotes a fun, social and non competitive version of football. Walking football is designed for all players, fans and newcomers to enjoy football at their own level.
Walking football will take place on the synthetic grass at North Epping Bowling Club
Our Philosophy:
- Walking Football is a non-competitive/social, low-impact, team-based exercise, utilising the Walking Football Rules and Formats – specifically, minimal contact with players and always having one foot on the ground.
- Walking Football aims to provide participants with physical and mental health benefits, social connections, and the benefits of ongoing physical activity.
- Players are strongly encouraged to play Walking Football with an encouraging attitude shows sportsmanship to ensure the safety & enjoyment of all participants. Aggressive tackles or body contact is not permitted and will be pulled up on by the referees. Players are to use positive and encouraging comments to all players.
Player Eligibility:
- Players are to be 40 years of age to participate in walking football. However, players that can provide proof of injury, disability, health issues or other compelling reasons can play subject to NWF approval.
- Players must have an attitude that supports the growth of participation and enjoyment in football. Players who do not display sportsmanship will be removed from the program.
