North West Sydney Football (NWSF) has today released the draw for the 2025 Gilmour Cup, with 22 entries comprised of teams from Men’s Premier League, Super League, and All Age competitions.
HISTORY OF THE CUP
Originally established as the Gladesville Hornsby Football Association Cup in in 2011, the Gilmour Cup is a pre-season knockout tournament for the regions’ highest level men’s community football teams.

DRAW MECHANICS
Following are the mechanics applied to the Gilmour Cup draw, which was conducted at the NWSF Offices by the NWSF General Manager Competitions and witnessed by the NWSF Association Chair.

1 | The 9 Premier League 1st Grade Teams received a bye The 13 remaining teams were drawn in pairs from a pot, with the last team drawn receiving a bye (taking Round 4 to 16 teams – the 9 PL teams, 6 winners of the R1 matches, and last team drawn from the pot) |
2 (Round of 16) | The “winners” of matches 1 to 16 were drawn in pairs from a pot to create matches 17 to 24 |
3 Quarter Final) | The “winners” of matches 17 to 24 were drawn in pairs from a pot to create matches 25 to 28 |
4 (Semi Final) | The “winners” of matches 25 to 28 were drawn in pairs from a pot to create matches 29 and 30 |
5 (Grand Final) | For the purpose of determining a home team (for potential playing colour clashes) the “winners” of matches 29 and 30 were drawn for the Grand Final (match 31) |
CUP MATCH SCHEDULE
The Gilmour Cup match schedule has been published to Dribl, accessible via the following link.
The Cup kicks off on Friday 14 February 2025 with fixtures between Redfield Lions Super League 1st Grade and Epping Eastwood Super League 1st Grade, and North Ryde FC Super League 1st Grade and Epping Eastwood Super League Reserve Grade.
Matches follow each weekend across 5 rounds, culminating in the Grand Final on Sunday 16 March 2025.
